Before McCall,
there was Shaw Ranch.
Since 1889. Five generations of stewardship. The last undeveloped private ranch on Boulder Lake Road.
Bordered by Jughandle Mountain and surrounded by forest, this 510-acre parcel has never been developed or subdivided. Open meadow pasture, old-growth forest with natural tree farm designation, and complete solitude within 10 minutes of beautiful McCall, Idaho.
Every acre has a story.
The Shaw land has its own geography with places the family named and passed down the same way they passed down the land itself. There are spots that have become home to herds of elk, and huckleberry patches that fill up in the sun-soaked summer. The old camping roads wind through forest and over boulders, ready to ride or hike. The aspen groves turn gold in October in a way that is hard to put into words.
Grandma's House and the first root cellar still stand as quiet reminders of where it all began. Grasshopper Flats opens into stunning meadows filled with wildflowers. The Old Campground is woven with Boulder Creek, where the family has spent generations camping and fishing. And deep in the trees, the Dark Forest is old-growth timber alive with wildlife.
There are dozens of other places on this land that our family knows by heart and are waiting to share with the next keeper of this land.
You don't visit the wildlife. You live among it.
The land has never been developed, and the animals know it. Elk, moose, deer, fox, wild turkey, porcupine, and dozens of bird species move freely through the pasture and forest. This is not managed habitat but a genuine, undisturbed ecosystem.
This land rewards every season.
The Shaw Homestead has a different character each month and McCall's proximity means lake season, ski season, fishing season, hunting season, and wildflower season are all within reach.
